Ten years after the release of Solo Granito, the time had come for a third edition of this guide, which over the years has become the reference for those who climb in the valleys of the upper Val Masino.
In recent years there has been a lot of excitement in the mountaineering environment, this has led not only to the creation but also to the rediscovery of many itineraries of all difficulties, from the normal routes to the most severe climbs of the Central Alps, which have been included in this new guide. The division of the various areas has also been revised, in light of the publication of other guides in this series that cover the latter, in order to better explore the whole of Val Masino.
The volume is completed by images and insights into the history and characters who wrote it.
Luca Schiera, who began climbing as a child with his father on the slabs of Val di Mello. It was on these mountains that he grew up as a mountaineer, carrying out a good part of his vertical activity, where after many years of frequenting he continues to find terrain (and rock) to feed his curiosity. Since 2013 he has been part of the Ragni della Grignetta Group and dedicates much of his energy to discovering remote and little-known mountains, especially in Patagonia. The search for adventure has led him to climb in many corners of the world, although he considers the most beautiful mountains to be those at home.
