The stretch of Adige Valley between Avio and the Gorge of Ceraino, the southern slopes of Monte Baldo (from Rivoli Veronese to Caprino and Ferrara di Monte Baldo) and the backcountry of Lake Garda have become in the last decades a top destination for climbers. You can climb all year long: there’s a lot of crags and multipitches up to 300 mt, in a landscape varying from the olive groves to the dolomite-like summits of Monte Baldo.
This guidebook reviews 24 crags and 11 walls with multipitches, for a stunning 40.000 mt of climbing on a sturdy limestone, resembling the Verdon rock.
The strongest climbers can test themselves (and their fingers…) on high-level routes, up to 8b+ (not to mention sevarl projects to be sent and graded….), while those who prefer “plaisir” or intermediate climbing have an embarassing wealth of options.
The reader will find, besides the technical information, an original and “personal” historical introduction and several profiles of the pioneers of climbing between Adige Valley and Lake Garda.
