Aemilia is a guidebook reviewing climbing throughout the wonderful Apennines valleys near Piacenza, which are worth a visit – not only for their extraordinaire landscape, nature and local culture: you’ll find crags, multipitches, ice-climbing, mixed routes and recently developed bouldering areas. Besides the topos, an interesting view cast on the history and the people who explored the climbing potential of an area which is having an increasing appeal and a growing local engagement in climbing development.
About the Author
Eugenio Pinotti, was born in 1961 in Piacenza, where he lives and works as an architect. He’s a fond mountaineer and climber, and has explored and reviewed whole valleys in the Alps and the Apennine ranges – aiming at expanding the boundaries of his reports, with interesting insights on local nature, culture and people.
He’s collaborating with the local Alpine Club section, whose climbing gym has been designed by his architecture firm, and authoring essays and reports on Italian and European climbing.
